Kenny C. did everything to determine the cause of why the breaker in the main panel for the furnace was going off after a short time the HVAC system was running. It was clear that the HVAC system was running correctly and he took pictures that proved it. The breaker for the compressor was not tripping and feeds to the breaker at the main panel, so it is obvious that the breaker at the main panel needs to be replaced. Although I wish he could have replaced the breaker, I understand why and will call a licensed electrician to replace the breaker. I am thankful that I have the pictures to prove the situation with the electrician.

An Excellent Learning Experience

I learned from Luis how my new HVAC system was supposed to work at such a detail level that it was clear Luis knew what and how to fix it. In the process of checking the non working system, he pointed out the damaged part in the compressor. He was able to provide a detailed diagnosis so that I was prepared to take it to that next step - actually getting the proper component (the compressor) replaced. Since I could not get a response from the original installer (and questioned their competence anyway), it was obvious that Ruis and his colleagues knew what they were doing and would get the job done.

Dust stated the system randomly stops producing heat at random times, tech did notice the thermostat not engaging the system to operate when it was either set to cool or heat even after a 5 minute delay. Tech removed the thermostat off the wall, inspected it and secured it back to the wall and now the thermostat makes an immediate call for heat or cool. Heat strip amp draw is good, delta T is good. Tech recommends replacing a faulty thermostat. Tech attempted to contact eagles properties to provide a quote and was unsuccessful. Estimate will be sent along with today’s invoice. Filter was replaced due to being dirty/partially clogged, which may contribute into lack of airflow which causes the limit switch to open and stop producing heat at times.

Removed old water heater and installed new energy-efficient Rheem system. Verified proper connections for water and electrical supply. Tested for leaks and ensured proper operation. Customer advised on future maintenance. System functioning correctly.

Customer requested recharge. Tech found bypass damper has just an open and close damper motor and quoted replacing it with an adjustable damper. Customer does not want to move forward with other repairs at this time. Tech also recommended ESA plan. Tech added refrigerant and system is running heat pump heat only. Supply temp increased from 73 to 80 with 58 return and 29 degree outdoor temperature. System will not be efficient without zone board replacement.

2008 split heat pump system upstairs. Tech found the condenser fan motor operating, however, the inner bearings are showing signs of failure/seize up, during every start up, the motor does make a dry humming noise. Tech noticed the refrigerant lines after the outdoor txv freezing up, R22 refrigerant charge was checked and found it to be reading low on charge. Tech used a high sensitivity leak detector and only found a tiny leak in the back of the evaporator coil, not enough to leak over time. Due to high potential repair cost, filed supervisor was notified and will provide a solution.
